There are many known diseases caused by noise and vibration. These; nervous tension, neurosis, head, eye and ear pain, etc. beyond this, sounds and vibrations cause behavioral disorders and tension in young children.

The only way to deal with noise is correct sound insulation applications.

Sound insulation eliminates the negative effect of noise level on individuals' quality of life by reducing both the passage of indoor noise level to adjacent environments and the passage of environmentally-borne noise to living spaces. Sound insulation is to reduce the sound emitted from any sound source to the environment in summary or in other words, the noise to a predetermined level by changing the physical or acoustic properties.

It is of great importance to take the necessary precautions on the walls, floors and ceilings in order to minimize the passage of noise to the interior during the construction phase in buildings exposed to noise.

For this reason, it is a necessity to make environmental noise measurement and design according to these measurements while the buildings are still in the planning phase.

In the fight against noise, acoustic regulation and sound insulation are mainly used. Acoustic regulation is the regulation of the reflection time in the indoor environment.

Sound insulation is the process performed to reduce the amount of sounds transmitted through building elements (walls, floors, doors, windows, etc.).

In light of all this, the “Regulation on the Protection of Buildings Against Noise”, which is the legislation that includes the issues regarding noise control in buildings, was published in the Official Gazette numbered 30082 on May 31, 2017 and entered into force on May 31, 2018.

With this regulation, design, construction, use, maintenance to ensure good hearing and perception conditions that will be exposed to people during the operation and use of all kinds of buildings, buildings, facilities and businesses, to minimize the negative effects of all kinds of noise on people's physical and mental health. and operating rules are defined.

As the Ottoman Project, while preparing Acoustic Projects, we are preparing projects by analyzing not only direct sounds but also direct and lateral sounds by making 3D BIM modeling.

We prepare our projects in accordance with TS EN 12354 Building Acoustics standard.

Our Report and Project Preparation Stages

Determination of Boundary Values

1. External noise in the location of the building is detected.
2. The degree of sensitivity is determined according to the type of building (housing, school, etc.).
3. Sound insulation values ​​between adjacent volumes are determined.
4. Sound insulation values ​​in the volume are determined.
5. Noise levels of the installations are determined.

Determination of building elements

The limit values ​​that the structural elements (wall, floor slabs, door, window, etc.) must carry are determined by analyzing the airborne and impact sounds of the determined limit values ​​in 3D. Thus, the necessary sound insulation is determined according to the type of building element to be used.

For example, how many cm of insulation material is required for 20 cm hollow concrete blocks  on the facade, or whether the 10 cm brick limit values ​​are provided on the partition in the space, all structural elements are analyzed using the actual products and values.

Thus, real applicable material lists are determined for all building elements.
